You’re getting ready to go live? Congratulations! But there are a few things you must do before the world see’s your new website! The first is to set up your profile, it’s an easy process and you’ll be done in two wags of a Labrador’s tail!
To get to the Dog House, log into the backend of the website to your Dashboard (where you land when you log in). From there, you will want to go to the Dog House – which is where I would rather be playing with the dogs than working on the computer! Anyway, to get to the Dog House, hover over your name at the top right-hand corner of the screen and select Dog House.
Rescue Profile Basics
- Fill out all the requested information. (Step-by-step instructions are not included for this because it’s so easy even a computer illiterate like me can do it!)
- THIS IS A BIGGIE – remember to click Update Options when you’re done, unless you had so much fun doing it you want to do it again!
Social Tab
- Next, fill out your social profile – you know, all those social media sites you use for the rescue.
- Next is Social Proof. Again, no explanation needed, just click the appropriate buttons.
Then comes the all-important UPDATE OPTIONS to save the data you just entered. This is so vital there are buttons at both the top and bottom of the screen! Just remember: No hitting the Update Options Button = no saving the data!
Donations Tab
- First is Donation Accounts. Here you will fill out all the accounts you have with various vendors who will give your rescue donations when someone shops there (Amazon Smile, Chewy, etc.). Fill in your account links for each of the four companies.
HINT: There’s also a handy feature if you don’t have a donation account with one of them – jut click on the “Click here to Sign Up” link under the company name!
- Next is Foundation Accounts. As with the Donation Accounts, you will fill out the accounts you have with the various foundations to receive donations. They, too, have the handy dandy sign up link under each in case you want to sign up!
Integrations
Next is a real time saver for you! To get your dogs automatically listed on Petfinder and/or Adopt-a- Pet when you enter them on the website the Integrations section will take care of that. If you don’t have an account with one or both, a link is provided for you to sign up!
Also, if you want your microchips automatically registered (currently only applies to Found Animals and Buddy ID), then you need to fill out this section! If you don’t have a Found Animals account, you can get one right from the link on this page!
- Enter your Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet Username and Password in the appropriate boxes. You also have an opportunity to enter a short blurb which will appear at the bottom of the adoption site listing.
- Just below the adoption site information is the microchip companies which play nice with Buzz . Enter the information requested in order to automatically register your microchips (if you don’t have a Found Animals account, there is a link to get one).
Please, please, please remember to click on Update Options when you are done. It is the only way to get the information you’ve entered to the techno-wizards of the website to get all the pathways set up!
You’ve now finished the Profile section! Way to go!
